ARDC RETURNS TO WILLIAMS GROVE SPEEDWAY FOR TOPLESS NIGHT The Wingless Midgets of the American Racing Drivers Club will return to the historic Williams Grove Speedway Saturday July 10th, for Topless Night, along with Super Sportsman and 358 Late Models. ARDC will be contesting two, 20 lap features. The first will be a makeup event from May 8th when rain curtailed the evenings activities after the heat races and will then have a complete show with heat and consolation races. The Midgets, whose schedule is run completely without wings, will be joined by the Super Sportsman and the popular 358 Late Models. The twist is that the Super Sportsman will have to remove the sheet metal structures that normally adorn their roll cages and the Late Models will take off their roofs....more

Young Claims ASCS Midget Feature at Silver Dollar Speedway By Robert Haugh Piloting his own #14 RAM Racing “Pink Lady” Stealth/RRE Chevy EcoTec, Shingle Springs’ Rick Young swept the American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) Midget race at the legendary ¼-mile Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA on Saturday, July 3. After almost spinning on an opening lap bobble that sent him to fifth place, Young rebounded by working his way from the back of the pack to score the feature win and sweeping the evening’s race action. Legendary Jimmy Sills Captures The 30 Lap Midget Feature at Chowchilla Speedway As an orange moon rose in the east, pole-sitter Danny Parker in Bob Roza’s #28 Beast/Esslinger paced the Midget field to the green flag, but before a lap was complete the Dave Lamont #0 TCR/Honda with Ryan Bernal at the wheel spun to a stop in turn #3. On the complete restart, Parker led outside front row starter Bill Lindsey in Stu Donaldson’s #8X Stealth/Pontiac into turn #1. MIDGETS RETURN TO BURLINGTON AFTER 37 YEAR HIATUS! HINES, KUHN SHARE “INDIANA MIDGET WEEK” TITLE; ALL 5 INDIANA MIDGET WEEK RACES PRODUCE DIFFERENT WINNERS! It’s been 37 years, but the USAC Mopar National Midget Series returns to 34 Raceway in Burlington, Iowa this Saturday for a “doubleheader” racing program also featuring the USAC AMSOIL National Sprint cars. Tommy Astone won the last USAC Midget race at Burlington in 1973. Bryan Clauson of Noblesville, Ind. will lead this year’s contingent into Burlington with a 62-point lead over Tracy Hines in the latest series points. Hines, of New Castle, Ind., and Brad Kuhn of Avon, Ind. are the 2010 co-champions of USAC’s Indiana Midget Week. Cameron Beard Shows No Rust Winning At Marysville In His Rental Car 6/19/2010 By Steve Hazelton After an almost 2 yr lay off, veteran racer, Cameron Beard returned in style to win the BCRA Midget Lite main event at Marysville on Sat. 6/19. Driving his son’s #77, Beard re entered the racing world, starting on the pole of the main event. Cameron lead every lap of a very exciting race that had challengers on his bumper every lap. A classified ad on the BCRA web site shows the #77 is for rent to perspective racers or who ever. After the race Cameron told me the rental rate just went up, since it is a main event winner.
